Flashbulb Moment!

This Saturday, I had a blast getting together with some photographers and hitting up Chicago for a great time of discussion, photography and awesome memories!

Thanks everyone who made it out for Flashbulb Moment, I hope you enjoyed our day together!
What a great group of people to hang out with in Chicago!

The people in our group who weren't shooting pictures that day did a great job modeling for those of us who were snapping away.  (Whoops, didn't mean to make that rhyme, I'll try not to do that again next time.)

Check out Alyssa's blog to see some of her photography skills!
Nicole also keeps her blog fresh and up-to-date with pictures, so stop by and say hello to her!
Messing around with reflections...

Can't forget to get a picture of my delicimoso lunch of chicken enchiladas.  So good!

I end up in this church yard some way or the other almost every time.  I love the stonework and the peaceful atmosphere in the middle of a bustling city!

The gusty breezes kept us all laughing as it swept hair every direction.  (Except mine of course) :o)

Emily, in her own little Secret Garden.

As you can see, everyone that came was super fun and willing to do crazy stuff for the photographer!

The three musketeer....ettes. :o)

We won't mention how long it took to get through the line to get to the top of the Hancock building, but we finally made it up and got a few pictures before getting in line to head back down....crazy!

Don't they look like matchbox cars from up here?

My "car" shot

I love this city!
At least visiting it anyway.

Winter morning in Chicago

Those who know me well, know that doesn't take much to convince me to make a trip to downtown Chicago.  I love that place!

Last Saturday, I went to Chicago to help out a young photographer, who was looking to get a few shots of specific places downtown.  Of course, while we were there, I shot some pictures too, so here are a few that I thought you all might enjoy.

A picture of history
I love the mix of old and new buildings that line Michigan Ave!

Curtis was a great model for being out in 25 degree weather (Not including the stiff wind chill!)

We warmed up at the Caribou Coffee across from Millennium Park.  (I got the dark chocolate Campfire Mocha and it was amazing!)

The faces were on for once!  I had never got a chance to get a good picture of them until Saturday.

One of my favorite buildings in Chicago...the John Hancock Tower!

Here is why I love it.  The view is incredible!

I found out that the observatory at the top of the Hancock building is not only good for pictures of downtown Chicago, but also for high key lighting!

Mackinac Island

We found a fitting location to for the t-shirt that I was wearing at the site of the British landing on Mackinac.

I really love this picture.  The old buildings were fantastic!

Most of the houses on the island's bluffs are huge old historic houses, very cool.

Ethan and Reid take a break during the bike trip around the island.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Katterman family a little better.

Ethan was collecting all the shiny black rocks that he could find.

I think I know a future photographer when I see one!

The whole Thacker clan.

This Schwinn water bottle was one of my best friends during the trip.  It helped me be able to bike almost 100 miles that week!

Hotel on the waterfront...

A classic of Mackinac Island, high tailing it!

This picture so needs a motivational saying to go along with it! ;o)

I love the "small town" feeling that the whole island has...it is amazing!
