Jason & Hannah - Wedding

Jason and Hannah were married on a very cold and snowy day in northern Michigan and we were so glad to be able to capture all the amazing moments from their special day.

Big shout out to Jason, Hannah and all the wedding party who pretended like it wasn't 12 degrees outside and braved the elements for some awesome photos!

When we saw this straight road running up the hill, we knew we just had to get some portraits at the top.  My favorite location of the day by far!  And yes, all the snow in these pictures is absolutely real, no effects added. :)

My first canvas!

Okay, so I was super excited when I heard Rick was going to propose to my sister Lizzie and I decided that this would be a great time to order my first canvas as a gift for them.

I love how it turned out!  It is so crisp and clear and the colors are perfect! Thank you Mpix!

Anyway, without further ado, here are the pictures from last evening when they got back to the house.

We are planning on doing a real engagement photo shoot later on, but I grabbed a few snapshots to share with all our family and friends right away.

Did I mention that I love canvas prints? :o)

They are such a cute couple!  Looking forward to shooting lots more pictures of them together!

Musical ring picture!

Think they are happy about this decision?

Note to self: Buy a chalk board for future photo shoots.

New Photographer!

AJ came along to help me with some work today, and afterwards, we had some fun, shooting pictures together.  I have to admit, I was stunned at the quality of pictures that Aiden shot!

Every picture of me was taken by him and vice versa.

Check out his skills with my camera!  Do I sense a future photographer?

A couple of pictures from Chicago...

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from a couple of days ago, when we met with some friends in downtown Chicago.  At least they put up with my happy camera trigger finger! :o)

I love this churchyard.  It almost feels like you are in a different era!

My wonderful sister and brother-in-law are so perfect for each other!

P.S. Stay tuned for a post once I get my new 50mm 1.4 prime lens.  I can't wait to get some awesome pictures with it!

Mackinac Island

We found a fitting location to for the t-shirt that I was wearing at the site of the British landing on Mackinac.

I really love this picture.  The old buildings were fantastic!

Most of the houses on the island's bluffs are huge old historic houses, very cool.

Ethan and Reid take a break during the bike trip around the island.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Katterman family a little better.

Ethan was collecting all the shiny black rocks that he could find.

I think I know a future photographer when I see one!

The whole Thacker clan.

This Schwinn water bottle was one of my best friends during the trip.  It helped me be able to bike almost 100 miles that week!

Hotel on the waterfront...

A classic of Mackinac Island, high tailing it!

This picture so needs a motivational saying to go along with it! ;o)

I love the "small town" feeling that the whole island has...it is amazing!

Gellos Family

I am so blessed to have these wonderful people in my family.  Kaity is an awesome sister, Brent is a great brother-in-law and Emily Marie is the cutest niece in the world!

We took a few minutes today to grab an updated family picture.
