Luke and Jessica braved the cold today for a quick Christmas mini-session. I was happy with the fun images we got of these two.

The Nymeyer Family
Had a great time shooting a few studio family pictures for the Nymeyer family this week. These kids are hilarious to work with and our session was over before I knew it.

Christmas light shot
I was setting up before a shoot today with my lovely Nicole when I had an idea for some fun Christmas light layering. I found an 8x10 picture frame and wrapped it in standard white Christmas lights, then held it in one hand and shot through it with my 50mm at 1/60, f1.6, 160 ISO to create the image at the bottom of this post.
You have to try this out, it is so easy and you get images that have that Christmas cheer without adding fake effects later.
I shot with one studio light for fill on Nicole's face and she sat in front of our Christmas tree to add the layer of bokeh behind her.
Let me know what you think in the comments below.
If you try this out, I would love to see a link to your photo!

Murdock Family
Nicole and I had a great time this past Saturday shooting family portraits for the Murdock family. I must say this is the first time that I have shot a family session with a canine member, but Remy was picture perfect for the whole session!
Thank you Murdocks for a great shoot, you guys made it so easy, relaxed and fun!

Yancey-Gilchrist Wedding Final Sneak Peek
Thanks to technology, Libby's good friend was able to watch the wedding from Australia! How cool is that?
This guy could easily win the award for best behaved ring-bearer ever. He was amazing!

Pentax K1000
I had the pleasure this week of learning a bit more about fundamental photography when my brother Luke brought home this garage sale jewel. A Pentax K1000 film camera, still in the original box with receipts of when it was purchased, less than a month after I was born! :)
So I found some film, shot my 24 shots, got them developed and scanned a few favorites for you to enjoy.
If you have only ever shot digital, I would encourage you to find an old manual camera like this and have fun with it. It's a little intimidating to select shutter speed/aperature and focus and shoot pictures without being able to check them the next second for proper lighting, but definitely a lot of fun.
The scanner I have is not a very high quality one, so I apologize for the noise in the pictures, but it's the best I can do for now.

Jared & Bernadette
Shock, gasp, whoa! I know, there is actually a new post on the blog! :)
I have been a little busy with preparations for my own wedding and have sorely neglected this poor blog, but never fear, here is one glimmer of hope that this page is still alive! :)
Jared has been a lifelong friend and I could see just by the way he acted when Bernadette was around that she was the perfect young lady for him. They are just the most awesome, fun couple to shoot pictures for and they made my day a breeze!
Enjoy these photos from the beautiful wedding of Jared and Bernadette!
